Getting ready for the trip

This isn't the way we will be dressed on the Queen Mary 2!  (Our garb is actually from a patriotic play we were in during the summer of 2010.)
Since the Queen Mary 2 requires formal dress several nights during our 7 day cruise,  Sharon has borrowed fancy dresses from our daughter Sarah and our daughter-in-law Jill to wear to the balls.

I borrowed a tux from Scott - yes, it fits, sort of.......
I'll have to take a couple of suit jackets also since even on the casual nights a jacket is required.

I plan to do some practice packing today to see if everything will fit in my suitcase.  I always harassed my fellow travelers on previous trips about taking small suitcases, and it was a matter of pride that my suitcase was always the smallest.  This trip will require larger luggage; I may have to bite my tongue in the future.
When we first schedule a trip, it seems so far in the future and takes so long to get here.  Then,  the time grows near and events seem to come in a rush.  So many things to do like stopping the mail and papers, one last mowing of the lawn, getting all bills paid, Sharon's cards for birthdays made and ready for mail, packing, etc..................    It's always a relief to board the plane and leave the hassle behind.
We are so blessed to be able to travel as we do.   When we were first married, we thought such future travel was an impossibility.  We encourage our friends to grab the opportunity and travel while you may.
