Away on United today

      No, this isn't London even though that is a double deckered bus.  We took a walk around Chicago this morning while we wait for the time to go to the airport.  We walked on State Street (that great street for the song) and Michigan Avenue as well as other nearby streets.  It was a pleasant morning after an early morning thundershower but we were soon perspiring. It was good to step into the St. James Cathedral on Wabash to enjoy the air conditioning there.  We made another stop later at the Chicago Water Tower to cool off again.   Since our luggage is already full, we didn't bother to shop in the stores along Michigan Avenue.

You are probably wondering if those Altmans will ever get to London and on with the trip.  Well, we leave at 6:20 PM tonight on United Airlines and expect to arrive about eight hours later at Heathrow Airport.  That will be about 8:30 AM there, so we expect to have a busy day in London tomorrow before collapsing into bed at Benny's B & B.  Not sure when I'll be able to post again.
